Understanding What Is Meant By Blocked Trust And Blocked Care – The Impact On The Education System And Relationships. A Worcester Virtual Schools Closed Group

This online workshop is for educational professionals supporting children and young people with trauma needs. The session will explore blocked care:
what it is, how it develops, as well as differentiating it from other terms such as compassion fatigue, to think about different presentations within families, and within the professional network.

There will be discussion, experiential exercises and slide presentation.

This workshop will look at:
● Research findings on blocked trust and blocked care in adoption and the impact on
children
● The impact of blocked care on children, young people and those round them and how to recognise this
● How to explore capacity within relationships – to recognise blocked care and supportive responses
● Good practice on how professionals can respond and intervene in order to work through indications of blocked care
● Implications for school/college relationships
