Laura has been with The Family Place for over 8 years. She is a highly accomplished Director and expert in child and family therapeutic services, Laura Harrison possesses over 15 years of professional experience, including more than a decade in senior leadership across the education, charitable, and fostering/adoption sectors. She is an expert in driving strategic service leadership, clinical and educational management, operational oversight, and complex HR matters.
Throughout her career, she has demonstrated proven success in leading specialist therapeutic services for children and young people who have experienced complex trauma and loss across England and Wales. This expertise is underpinned by a Masters-level qualification in National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-Ordination (SENCo) and advanced therapeutic training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Theraplay. Her professional history includes progressive senior roles at The Family Place, charitable sector and Local Authorities, as well as considerable experience as a SENCo and Inclusion Lead as a qualified teacher in a number of schools. In addition to her professional commitments, she has served in voluntary roles as a school governor and pre-school trustee.
