Charlotte is a Specialist Attachment Practitioner at The Family Place.

Charlotte has completed an MSc in Play Therapy at the University of South Wales and is a registered BAPT Play Therapist. She is an Intermediate Theraplay practitioner and is working towards becoming an accredited BUSS (Building Underdeveloped Sensorimotor Systems) practitioner.

Charlotte has completed DDP levels 1 and 2. Charlotte has worked with children and young people across a variety of settings including children’s services, the charity sector and education (pupil referral units). Charlotte is able to offer both attachment-focused therapeutic play and non-directive play therapy.

Charlotte is experienced in using Theraplay to support children with developmental trauma to make progress in trusting relationships. She is particularly experienced in supporting children impacted by developmental trauma and attachment difficulties, children experiencing transitions from residential care to therapeutic foster care, from short-term to long-term foster care, from foster care to birth family and transitions to adoption.

Charlotte is passionate about open-water swimming and has managed to convince her boss to join her. She is a great believer in the healing capabilities of nature, and that helping children and young people to connect with the outdoors and the natural environment can make a real difference to their sense of self, as well as their emotional and physical health and well-being.
