Caroline has been a qualified social worker since 2009 and has worked for Local Authorities in a variety of teams including child protection, looked after children and adoption.
She started working therapeutically in 2018, completing Theraplay Level 1 and DDP Level 1 and felt inspired to continue to develop her skills as a trauma-informed practitioner. She has worked with children and families with different backgrounds: birth families, foster families and adoptive families.
Caroline is passionate about helping families develop loving, supportive relationships and for each individual to feel accepted and understood for who they are. She has been keen to expand her knowledge and experience to be able to offer a range of interventions for families. She has achieved the Intermediate Level of the Theraplay Practicum and is working towards certification. She is also on the DDP Practicum.
Caroline has trained in Therapeutic Life Story Work and is working towards becoming a qualified Play Therapist. Caroline brings to her role the personal experience she has as an adoptive parent to two children with learning difficulties and developmental trauma. She is working sessionally as a social worker for The Family Place.
