James has worked in the NHS and Children’s Social Care with children and families since qualifying as a clinical psychologist over 10 years ago.

His work has been with children and families where there are child protection concerns, as well as working with Looked After Children and foster carers, and adopted children and their families. His specialist areas of clinical practice include assessment and intervention with children and families who have experienced developmental trauma and where this has had an impact on children’s attachment and emotional wellbeing.

James has completed Theraplay and DDP Level One and Two trainings and is undertaking the practicums for both therapies. James is also trained in a wide range of other evidence-based psychological approaches for working with children and families.

James is an adoptive parent himself and lives in London with his husband and son.
